F.D.R. did many great things during his presidency such as upholding the good neighbor policy and the New Deal earning him the grade of a B-. Although Roosevelt may have jump stated the economy he also put America into a lot of debt and made the bad choice of the Internment camps.

In his first term F.D.R. set out to help stop the economic depression by helping the farms gain a stable market, lower the unemployment rate and give perks to business men. Roosevelt also wanted to stay out of WW2. Roosevelt achieved his first goal although at the expense of his second promise. The economy was back to normal if not better but America got involved in WW2 which was the major thing that solved the economic problem.
F.D.R. had a great relationship with congress. This is proved by the many bills passed by congress such as the New Deal which included a multitude of bills. The Democratic Party was the majority party in congress for all of Roosevelt’s presidential terms which may have majorly helped his good relations in congress.
The New Deal would have to be the most positive thing that Roosevelt did during his presidency. The first thing that the New Deal did was put people’s trust back in the banks. He created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and took America off the gold standard. Other acts made direct employment programs employing millions of Americans. The Agricultural Adjustment Acts aided the farmers in an attempt to control the crop surpluses. The Securities and Exchange Commission and many other programs were also created. The New Deal put a big hole in America’s pocket but it also helped out the economy a great deal and was ultimately solved by WW2.
The most negative thing that F.D.R. did during his presidency was the authorization of Japanese internment camps. These camps were a result of the attack on Perl harbor in 1941. It took away Japanese American’s rights and put them into a camp. This caused the loss of millions of dollars in income for the Japanese Americans. The Internment camps although were not limited to Japanese Americans there were also German American Internment camps
and Italian American Internment campscamps. These camps were not only against the constitution but they were also morally wrong. They secluded the interned and prevented them from working in their previous jobs.
The big influence on today would have to be his socialistic approach to government. The New Deal was a step towards many government run programs we have today that resemble a socialist government such as welfare.
America was better off because of F.D.R even though he made some mistakes. Roosevelt upheld the good neighbor policy and the New Deal earning him the grade of a B-. He ultimately pulled America out of the Depression with WW2.
